French electro jazz sextet Asynchrone have made a sunny side up version of Ryuichi Sakamoto's Behind The Mask, a track he wrote when he was a member of the Yellow Magic Orchestra. They turned it into danceable pop tune, with treated vocals riding the wave of old school synths. It is a track from Plastic Bamboo, a full album of reworkings of the material of the Japanese composer and electronic music pioneer.
Plastic Bamboo will be released on September 29 via Nø Førmat (vinyl, CD, digital).
