Melbourne indie rock quintet Fan Girl are having fun with a bunch of clichés associated with their new single american cowboy son, an upbeat piss take by way of a video of poker game a clown, a magician, an astronaut (who doesn't a a phone call from Major Tom) and a cowboy. Stakes are raised, tempers flare, but it is all done very much tongue-in-cheek.
B-side MCF is a showcase for the band's mellower side, an acoustic love song about dealing with the quirks of a loved one. If The Dandy Warhols would have mixed the vocal approach of the Alessi Brothers, they might have sounded like this.
