English Jonathan Stolber's new project A Knife Ballet has all the trappings to become a post-rock meets ambient favourite. The Scattered Red, Blue & Black single is a sprawling, cinematic instrumental, wherein guitar, strings, synths, piano and noise strike up a hushed conversation about the crumbling healthcare services in Old Blighty and the idiocracy that is getting stronger by the day in the US. Headphones earcandy for anyone who loves Mogwai and the second side of David Bowie's Low album.
Jonathan Stolber: guitars, drums, bass, glockenspiel, space echo
poly synths, analogue bass, drum machine, piano
Ben Weedon: violins, viola
James Saddington: guitars, filthy pedals, noise
Maddie Cutter: cello
Chris Fordham: piano
Scattered Red, Blue & Black is a self-released single. Buy it from his website. It is a track from his forthcoming For The Blood Of England album. The single will be released as unique, bespoke vinyl pressing to be auctioned on Ebay to raise donations for Alzheimer’s Society.
