Belgian singer-songwriter Joris Vergaert is seriously worried. I've Seen The Future, the debut single by his new Seeroy project paints a world that is quite dark and foreboding. He uses a falsetto and his "normal" voice for a soft-spoken warning, with just a tiny bit of funk thrown in to save it from a 100% emo bedroom pop tag.
Vergaert made sunny-side up music with ONS, but he feels that it does not make sense to play happy-go-lucky songs right now, so he made an about face and is now concentrating on a soul-searching solo career.
I've Seen The Future is released via FONS Records. The video was directed by Hanne Demey.
