Saskatchewan shoegazers Unproductive are not afraid to take a stand. On their debut EP untitled they rage about impending doom in an apocalyptic love song (Victoria), read the riot act to rampant money grabbers in the MLB, make a case for Roe vs. Wade and the Sega Genesis console within the same song (Hope You Don't, before embracing their softer side with the jangling closing track Maker.
Being a leftie in a right-wing environment without the perspective for things to turn around any day soon, can be quite frustrating, but shouting at the heavens and making high energy post-punk helps them to stay sane. Changes are that they are preaching to the choir for now, but it is a hell of a sermon.
Unproductive:
Steven Adams: bass, keyboards
Nathan Henry: percussion
Z. O. Ë.: Key)
Declan Hills: guitar, vocals)
