Manchester neo-shoegaze quartet cruush are punching holes in empty promises and false advertising on their new EP Nice Things Now, All The Time. They take it slow and slightly muffled, which may lead to missing the quite funny, self-deprecating lyrics during the first listen. With wall-to-wall guitars and a pondering rhythm section, the inner tension of trying to make the most of it with empty pockets is almost palpable.
The sound of the late Eigthies and early Nineties is fashionable again, with Old Blightly in the midst of yet another economic crisis again. The Tories are wearing sneakers now, but their improved dress sense can't hide the fact that things are only getting worse.
