Los Angeles based musician Ward White has unveiled another track from his new album Here Come The Dowsers, a tongue-in-cheek collection about the movie business. Cliffhanger takes a look at plot twists that come out of nowhere and more often than not make sense. He shows some sympathy for this scheme as well, putting the blame on the audience as well, who are accustomed to this practice and expect as much for their entertainment needs.
It is a mid-tempo gentle rocker - note the 70s inspired tasteful guitar pyrotechnics - giving White plenty of room to show off his impressive vocal range, which is a match for this lyrical ability, as if Randy Newman found a way into the voice of Rufus Wainwright or Russell Mael.
Here Come The Dowsers is released via boutique label Think Like a Key (CD, digital). Release date: May 17. It is available for pre-order here.
