Experimental jazz fusion band The Flock released two great albums, the self-titled debut album in 1969 and Dinosaur Swamps in 1970, before calling it quits. A brief reunion spawned a third album that was quite good, but it did not the have the urgency and risk taking that made them special. Now two original members are rekindling the fire for The Return of The Flock, an octet that will play a show on June 7 @ Ravinia in the Chicago suburb of Highland Park. Jerry Goodman (electric violin) and Jerry Smith (bass, vocals) will be joined by multi-instrumentalist Howard Levy (Bela Fleck & the Flecktones) among others.
