Experimental sound artist Jason Stoll has come up with something special for his Xeeland project. On his new single Zones he mixes field recordings and soundscapes with a wealth of voices delivering lines from a review of Stalker, a Russian science fiction film directed by Andrei Tarkovsky. As with the movie the set rules of time and location do not apply: the review is cut up and read aloud in random order.
B-side Wall Beast The Plague is no slouch either. Think a vintage episode of Doctor Who, with something really nasty hiding in the woodworks of a damp, dilapidated building.
Zones is released via God Unknown Records (digital) and Champion Version (7" vinyl).
