The Dialtones: Love to Live

photo: David Lovas

Austin, TX based singer and guitarist Lauren Gurgiolo came out a really scary manic episode and decided that it was time to get the indie supergroup The Dialtones back together. After being diagnosed as bipolar she had cut the ties with everything and everyone she held dear, but once she resurfaced she turned the experience into songs to raise awareness for a condition that could be life threatening. The band's new single, Love to Live, predates her predicament, but it felt like belonged on the upcoming Static Sky EP.

With Mike St. Clair (bass), Chris Hausler (drums), Sahara Smith (vocals), and Wiley Green (keyboards), musicians who played with acts such as The Polyphonic Spree, White Denim, Okkervil River, The Heartless Bastards and Golden Dawn Arkestra, this new version of The Dialtones comes out swinging with a special brew of indie folk rock.

Love to Live is a self-released single. The Static Sky EP comes out on April 11 and is available for preorder here.
