Well, the beauty of composing is to surprise, do unexpected things imo. I know artists who sound like everyone but themselves. That surely is not my mission. Of course people lots of times feel like to compare things, especially as soon as something is being introduced to them they can’t find a box for :-). But yes, composing to me is let’s say…. maybe not always ‘inventing’ new things, but to entertain different ways and feature all sorts of moods. Make people laugh, or cry.
